Niners Nation open thread: Who is the Niners’ best receiver from the last 10 years?

New, comments

All of the talk about potentially picking a pass catcher at No. 13, it got me thinking.

San Francisco 49ers v Detroit Lions

With the San Francisco 49ers shockingly trading away standout defensive end DeForest Buckner to the Indianapolis Colts for the No. 13 pick in the NFL Draft, we have seen rumors about who the Niners might pick.

The most talked-about position is wide receiver. The Niners lost Emmanuel Sanders to the New Orleans Saints, leaving Deebo Samuel as the team’s No. 1 receiver for the time being.

All this talk got me thinking about the team’s receivers over the last ten years. Who has been the 49ers’ best pass-catcher since 2010?

The team had a good run under Jim Harbaugh from 2011 through 2015. Then we had the dark years under Jim Tomsula and Chip Kelly, before Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch took over.

Michael Crabtree led the team in receiving in 2011 and 2012, followed by Anquan Boldin, who had the most yards the next three seasons.

The Niners didn’t have much the dark seasons, but now Samuel looks like he will be a weapon for years to come.

If I had to pick, I would go with Boldin. He was very reliable for Colin Kaepernick and played with an intensity and toughness that are both second to none.

Who do you think is the best receiver for the Niners over the last ten seasons?
