Saturday was bittersweet for the San Francisco 49ers. The team made several moves this weekend that received excellent reviews from draft experts. There were hints about Joe Staley retiring, but Saturday, the legendary left tackle made it official. That led to everyone, yes, everyone, sharing what Staley meant to them personally. Here are some of the 49ers players and others associated with Staley said about him:

Joe, not a lot of words needed - you are a hell of a player & should be proud of what you've accomplished. I will never forget when we were at NASCAR and you asked me permission to drink a beer https://t.co/fOViedLDuQ

Bittersweet congratulations @jstaley74 - but not surprised to see a letter filled to the brim with gratitude and class. Will miss the bear hugs, karaoke, and chirps on the suit game - but look forward to planning celebrations of your career and legacy in the years to come https://t.co/7ERzvZMnY8

By now, your eyes are watering, and that’s okay. Staley had an impact on everyone he came across. Not many people in this world can say that.
Let’s use this thread to share your favorite memory of Staley. Was it the bloody nose? The block that paved the way for Alex Smith? Staley dancing in a commercial? It doesn’t have to be a popular answer, either. It could be a time where Joe took a moment to sign an autograph for you. Share your experiences with the rest of us.
