Serious question. Is Everyone okay? In this week’s Fanpulse, we polled San Francisco 49ers fans how they felt the team did during the draft, and the overwhelming amount gave the Niners an A.

I still see some fans upset that the 49ers didn’t draft a receiver with their first selection. I’ve also seen fans fed up with drafting a defensive lineman in the first round yet again.

After a few days went by and the emotions went away, we saw the big picture. Kyle Shanahan has raved about Brandon Aiyuk, while Javon Kinlaw was the closet replacement to DeForest Buckner the Niners could find. Oh, and the team traded two players that were phased out of the offense and swapped an All-Decade left tackle for a left tackle that made seven Pro Bowls during the last decade.

You can’t get any closer than the 49ers did to winning a Super Bowl than San Francisco did—unless you’re their division rival—so it’s understandable as to why the confidence was so high at the end of the season, even after a loss. The same goes for the slight dip in free agency. Losing DeForest Buckner and Emmanuel Sanders sucks. There is no other way around it. The Niners did their best to replace the two, and we’ll find out in 2020 how much of a drop-off there is from the veterans to the rookies.
