On Thursday, in a recent exercise by Bleacher Reports senior draft analyst, Matt Miller took to ranking the NFL’s top QB-WR duos. For this list, Miller used a “composite score” to determine the rankings, which is a number created with data pulled from Pro Football Focus, Football Outsiders, and his own research.
Unfortunately, the 49ers were not found until you reach the bottom quarter of the league as they came in at #24. The combination of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and wideout Deebo Samuel combined to produce a total composite score of 160, with both players earning an individual score of 80. That scored tied Jimmy G with Derek Carr as the 15th-highest score on the list and would rank Samuel tied as the 30th-ranked wideout with the Ravens’ Hollywood Brown and the Titans’ A.J. Brown.
The Niners landed right in front of the New England Patriots, whose duo is made up of second-year passer Jarrett Stidham (73) and Julian Edelman (87). They also fell right behind the Carolina Panthers and their pair that included Teddy Bridgewater (77) and D.J. Moore (85).
Intra-division rivals Seattle, Arizona, and Los Angeles were all ranked fourth, seventh, and 19th, respectively.
What do you all think of Miller’s rankings? Where would you rank Jimmy and Deebo?
