Jets deal Jamal Adams and 4th-round pick in 2022
To
Seattle, in exchange for Bradley McDougald (safety), 1st-round pick in 2021, 3rd-round pick in 2021, and 1st-round pick in 2022, source tells ESPN.
Deal is pending physicals.
Adams is a tremendous player, but man, that is a ton to give up. Two first-round picks and a third-rounder. Good on the Jets for sticking to their word. New York said they wouldn’t move Adams unless they got a deal they couldn’t turn down. Seattle gave them that deal.
Seattle gets better on defense right away, and Adams brings an instant impact. Adams gets to go to a contender, which was his wish. Good for him.
Rumors were floating around that Adams was interested in a few other teams, including the San Francisco 49ers. No way would an organization that’s looking to build for the future would give up two first-round picks for a safety. I still don’t think the Rams came out ahead in their trade for Jalen Ramsey, and cornerback is more important than safety. I love Adams. I think he’s a fantastic player, but goodness Seattle.
