The San Francisco 49ers aren’t done adding players. Ian Rapoport reported that the team is signing center Hroniss Grasu. The four-year veteran has spent time with the Ravens and the Bears. Grasu, 28, has started 13 games during his four-year career.
We don’t know how severe Ben Garland’s ankle injury is. He didn’t finish practice on Tuesday. Garland, who is filling in for starter Weston Richburg—who’s expected to start the season on the pUP list—reportedly tried to tape his ankle up and return to practice before eventually pulling himself.
The musical chairs along the offensive line would mean Daniel Brunskill slides over to center, while Tom Compton is your new starting right guard. The Athletic’s Matt Barrows reported that the 49ers had contacted a familiar face, Daniel Kilgore, who played seven seasons with the Niners. The two sides weren’t close to a deal, per Barrows. It’s worth noting that the team reached out to Kilgore before Garland’s injury.
