The 49ers are no strangers to injuries in their wide receiving corps over the last two years, but one pass catcher who is coming back from injury continues to inspire confidence in those covering the team.
“Trent Taylor looks like what he looked like last year in training camp before he broke a bone in his foot,” NBC Sports Bay Area’s Jennifer Lee Chan told Niner Nate, “He has been healthy, he worked out really hard to get back to where he’s at - that’s the guy I’m rooting for this year.”
Jimmy Garoppolo would certainly benefit from having Taylor back on the field. In eight career games together, the two have connected on 75% of their attempts. With injuries to Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and Jalen Hurd, establishing a reliable target other than George Kittle will be critical to the passing game.
Jennifer also provided snapshots of how Solomon Thomas and Ahkello Witherspoon are looking, plus one specific reason why the interior offensive line may be in better shape than you think.
