Per the transaction wire and Aaron Wilson, the San Francisco 49ers are working out Tino Ellis, Marquis Bridges, Ezekiel Ansah, Christian Angulo, Brian Allen.
CB Tino Ellis is a UDFA out of Maryland. He was with the Saints during their training camp. The 6’1”, 195-pound was a former receiver and is known for his press-man coverage skills. I don’t think Dontae Johnson was fully at fault for Sunday’s blocked punt, but you’d think the team would want to develop someone in that role.
Bridges graduated from North Dakota State in 2019. The 5’11”, 186-pound cornerback was second-team All-Missouri Valley.
We found out about Ansah’s workout on Sunday morning.
Angulo was with the Giants during this past training camp. He was a UDFA out of Hampton. The 6’2”, 190-pound cornerback participated in a virtual Pro Day to boost his draft stock and showed off a 4.49 40-yard dash time, a 40.5” vertical jump, a 10’7” broad jump, and 21 reps on the bench press.
Allen is a name you may remember if you pay attention to the draft. He was a fifth-round pick of the Steelers in 2017. He’s 6’3”, 215 pounds. Allen was recently with the Bills.
So, four cornerbacks a day after giving up over 150 yards to DeAndre Hopkins.
Separately, Matt Maiocco reported that the 49ers waived OL Ross Reynolds off the injury reserve with an injury settlement.
