The San Francisco 49ers will try and get back on track when they take on the New York Jets. The Niners struggled in their season-opening loss to the Arizona Cardinals, and are on the road for back-to-back games against the New York teams.

San Francisco is getting hit hard by the injury bug early this season. No. 1 receiver Deebo Samuel is out again this week after suffering a setback while recovering from a Jones fracture. The 49ers’ best corner Richard Sherman is out for three weeks after suffering a calf strain, and the team will also be without superstar tight end George Kittle as well as Dee Ford.

There are some reinforcements on the way for San Francisco. Rookie wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk will be the lineup after missing Week 1 with a hamstring injury. The offensive line will get a boost as well with the return of center Ben Garland. Hroniss Grasu will be the backup after starting last week.

San Francisco is trying to avoid the dreaded 0-2 start. Since 2007, 107 NFL teams have started 0-2 and only 12 have went on to qualify for the playoffs.

The Jets are playing their home opener after losing 27-17 to the Buffalo Bills in Week 1.
