Kyle’s update, 4:20 p.m.: The 49ers confirmed that Bosa has a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season. He should be ready for the start of next season if you’re looking for a sliver of hope. The 49ers added Ziggy Ansah, and they’ll likely add another pass rusher at some point this week. With that said, there’s no replacing Bosa and this is a brutal loss for anyone who loves the NFL. Bosa is a superstar.

Kyle’s update, 2:59 pm.: Raheem Mostert has a sprained MCL:

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke to the media after the 49ers win on Sunday to provide a few injury updates. Shanahan said Jimmy Garoppolo has a high-ankle sprain. Shanahan said the team wouldn’t know more about whether Garoppolo will miss time until the end of the week. Generally speaking, you’re out 4-6 weeks with a high-ankle sprain. These are the type of injuries that linger. Shanahan said the team might look to sign a free-agent quarterback, but he also said the team has guys on the roster that they like. That was in regard to the depth at multiple positions with today’s injuries.

As for Nick Bosa, Shanahan said he “most likely” tore his ACL. That’s a devastating blow as Bosa is not only the 49ers best defender, but he’s one of the best players in the NFL. There is no replacing a star like Bosa. The 49ers will have to find a way, though, especially if Dee Ford is out for a while. Here is Kyle on Ford’s neck injury: “Anytime you’re talking about the neck, you do have concerns, and it’s why we were cautious. It is a day to day thing and have to see how it reacts.”

As far as Solomon Thomas’s injury, Shanahan said he’s “in the same boat” as Bosa, but the team is waiting on the tests to confirm. Shanahan didn’t sound overly optimistic, though. There were no new details on Raheem Mostert, who didn’t play during the second half thanks to a knee injury, or Tevin Coleman, who also had a knee injury. There will be MRIs tomorrow to confirm each injury that happened on Sunday.

Shanahan said that the players were talking about how sticky the field was throughout the game, long before the injuries. He added, “unfortunately, MetLife Stadium is a place we have to go back to next week.”

Armstead added during the press conference that he has “a lot of anxiety” about playing Giants next week on the same field.
