The 49ers are supposed to be a running team that uses play-action to gain huge chunks of yards while controlling the clock and dictating the pace of the game. Why then, have they been largely unable to generate much on the ground beyond Raheem Mostert’s explosive plays?
Kyle Posey and Akash Anavarathan took a deep dive into the offensive line issues in this week’s Shanaplan podcast.
“It’s been a struggle, and I’m not sure what’s going on,” Posey said, “Everybody is missing blocks. Ross Dwelley missed five. Kyle Juczcyk missed two. Charlie Woerner struggled, too. It’s bizarre. This was not the case at all last year, and I have no way to explain it.”
Then he found one.
“Everybody’s messing up.”
