The majority of San Francisco 49ers fans spoke highly about Robert Saleh on Thursday night and wished him well in New York. A few fans are still in the mindset that Saleh is overrated and blah blah, but those fans are few and far between.
The players who have played for Saleh had nothing but positive things to say about the Jets' future head coach.
Last year I had to survey a dozen+ players that played for Coach Saleh on behalf of an organization.

I don’t know if I’ve ever heard players go to bat for a coach the way EVERY SINGLE ONE of them did for Saleh.
Congrats to the Jets
Towards the end of the season, Fred Warner said that Saleh was the best defensive coordinator in the league.
The @nyjets got a great one! Congrats to them!

And here's reaction on the Jets hire of Robert Saleh, via text, from one of Saleh's captains in SF, 49ers CB @RSherman_25: "Great pick up! He’s gonna turn that entire culture around!"

Congrats to Saleh, well deserved! Jets got a helluva coach, competitor, and a solid dude

I am so damn excited for Saleh. He is a leader. Unbelievable man and coach. Can’t wait to watch him turn around the Jets organization!
— Joe Staley (@jstaley74) January 15, 2021
Staley doesn’t speak up unless he actually means it. So if he says this about Saleh, it’s true.
Text from @49ers GM John Lynch on Robert Saleh: "Robert's earned this opportunity. He's smart, a tremendously gifted leader and ready for this challenge. We'll miss him dearly but he's left us better and we'll be proud of all that he'll accomplish. The @Jets are very fortunate."
— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) January 15, 2021
Russell Wilson and DeForest Buckner both complimented on Saleh, the man. Wilson said, “Great coach. Better Man!” Buck added, “Phenomenal coach and even better man.”
Congrats to Coach Saleh and his family. @nyjets you got a great coach and an even better person. #newtorkjets pic.twitter.com/GbPHR3Ki3F

Let’s take a look at some other reactions:
I’ll miss that Robert Saleh energy. #49ers pic.twitter.com/x3PU9nMXTi

Robert Saleh was so good for the 49ers. We really thought this was going to happen last season. I think all things considered, this year was even more impressive than 2019. Joe Douglas doing this right. Good hire.

Saleh adapted. That’s one of the biggest compliments you could give a coach. He modernized his defense both personnel and scheme-wise, and the 49ers' defense took off because of it. And that's before getting into his intangibles. Saleh is for real.

#Jets identified Robert Saleh as their top candidate early in process. Were able to go out and get him.
— Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) January 15, 2021
They love his intensity & ability to change culture of team.
He sold them not only with his vision on how to turn this around, but the staff that will be joining him
If history is any proof, Sam Darnold was being held back by Adam Gase, and Mike LaFleur should turn the Jets' offense around. I’m fascinated to see how aggressive the Jets are in free agency and if they move the No. 2 overall pick. Plus, if Saleh brings in the same type of defenders that San Francisco has. Namely, the big, long, and athletic defensive lineman like Arik Armstead.

#Jets new HC Robert Saleh reminds me of a Bill Cowher
