Do the 49ers need a big game more from Brandon Aiyuk or Emmanuel Moseley against the Bears?

Would a breakout game from Aiyuk or a bounceback performance from Moseley do more to help the 49ers end their losing streak?

The 49ers are hoping to end their four-game losing streak this week against the Chicago Bears. However, with so much going wrong in recent weeks, it’s hard to have high expectations for the team. So as we approach the weekend, will it be more important for wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk or cornerback Emmanuel Moseley to step up and deliver a big performance?

Aiyuk, of course, has been one of the biggest underperformers on the roster this season. Despite starting five of the team’s six games, he’s recorded just nine receptions for 96 yards and one receiving touchdown on 16 targets. Coming off a rookie season that included multiple games where Aiyuk racked up more than 100 receiving yards, his slow start to the season

After missing the first two games of the season with a knee injury, Moseley has been firmly entrenched as the 49ers' top corner. According to PFF, he has the highest coverage grade on the team (77.4) and has allowed just 11 receptions for 108 yards on 24 targets. However, he’s also committed three penalties, including two pass interference flags in last Sunday’s 30-18 loss to the Colts.

Obviously, Niners faithful would love for both young players to stand out on Sunday, but which one is more critical for getting San Francisco a win? Aiyuk has struggled all season, but wide receiver Deebo Samuel has taken a step forward to counteract that lost production. On the other hand, Moseley has been relatively consistent, but the Niners have lacked another cornerback capable of shutting down opposing receivers.
