The 49ers abysmal start against the Arizona Cardinals includes some more bad injury news for an already depleted team. Right tackle Mike McGlinchey limped to the locker room during the second quarter and was immediately replaced by Tom Compton. San Francisco has ruled McGlinchey out for the remainder of the matchup.

While McGlinchey has been under heavy scrutiny since he was drafted with the ninth overall pick in the 2018 draft, he has quietly been one of the most consistent players on the roster. McGlinchey had played in 100% of the team’s offensive snaps this season and has not missed a game since Week 8 of the 2019 season. Through the first eight weeks of the season, McGlinchey has an above-average 70.1 PFF grade.
