*New Title in 2021

Barry spent the 2020 season as a senior analyst with the Packers. Green Bay has been successful along the offensive line for years, so poaching one of their coaches was a good idea.

Hankerson is the name that stood out to be. He coaches wide receivers at Stephen F. Austin University the past two seasons. Before that, Hankerson coached at UMASS in 2018 as the WR coach and served as an offensive graduate assistant in 2017. During 2018, now Cardinals WR Andy Isabella gave Hankerson all kinds of credit for his development.

Isabella singled out Hankerson’s energy, which fits right in with the 49ers coaching staff. Isabella added, “everybody listens when he’s talking.” Hankerson was drafted by Washington and played with Kyle Shanahan from 2011-13.

Kubiak is a name that’ll sound familiar. His dad, Gary, just retired as the Vikings offensive coordinator. Klay was recently the head coach at Strake Jesuit high school in Houston. He’ll serve as a defensive quality control coach. There are obvious family ties here as Gary was the offensive coordinator for Kyle’s dad, Mike, during the 90s with the Broncos.

Undlin, 49, joins the 49ers after spending the 2020 season as the Detroit Lions' defensive coordinator. Before his time with Detroit, he spent four seasons (2015-19) with the Philadelphia Eagles as the team’s defensive backs coach.

Undlin went to Philadelphia after three years with the Denver Broncos as the team’s defensive backs coach (2013-14) and a defensive quality control coach (2012). Before Denver, Undlin spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars as defensive backs coach (2010-11) and a defensive assistant (2009).

From 2005-08, Undlin was with the Cleveland Browns, beginning as a defensive quality control coach (2005-06) before moving to secondary/assistant special teams coach (2007) and then was promoted to defensive backs coach (2008). He first entered the NFL coaching ranks as a defensive assistant with the New England Patriots in 2004.

Mangin, 34, joins the 49ers after spending the previous two seasons (2019-20) as a defensive analyst at Louisiana State University.

Prior to his two years at LSU, Mangin spent the 2018 season as an analyst at the University of Alabama. After four years (2014-17), he joined Alabama as the special teams' coordinator/defensive ends coach at Northwestern State University. For the 2012-13 seasons, Mangin served as a graduate assistant at LSU before his first coaching stint at Northwestern State in 2011 as a special teams/tight ends coach.
