Can you guess which three plays made the top 100?

The NFL released their top 100 catches of the 2020 regular season. Watching the video, it felt like Cardinals wideout DeAndre Hopkins was in there ten times. Three San Francisco 49ers were featured in the video.

The first Niner mentioned comes in at No. 68, where C.J. Beathard heaved a 49-yard hail mary, and Kendrick Bourne went up and snatched the ball over two Dallas Cowboys defenders to come down with an impressive touchdown grab. The timestamp is 7:12 below:

We’ve seen Bourne make difficult catches with a defender draped all over him on critical third downs, but we’ve never seen Bourne make a play like the one above where he goes up and over multiple players.

At 19:39, Jordan Reed snags a low pass from Nick Mullens with one hand to convert a 3rd & 10 to land at No. 20 on the countdown:

The expectations for Reed weren’t high coming into the season, given his injury history. When Reed did have a chance to showcase his skills, he moved the chains as he did above. Those are the types of catches you don’t see from your typical TE2, and rarely a TE1.

That is unless you’re George Kittle.

In the third quarter during Week 17, Kittle reminded us once again why he’s such a gifted player with this one-handed catch on a pass that was thrown behind him. The timestamp is 23:50:

It would have been difficult for that throw to be placed any worse. Kittle shows off his athleticism here and the ability to track the ball in the air while staying balanced. What a tremendous, full-extension catch.
