Details on the contracts for Ross Dwelley and Marcell Harris

NFL: Super Bowl LIV-San Francisco 49ers vs Kansas City Chiefs Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Over the Cap has the contract details for tight end Ross Dwelley and safety Marcell Harris after the San Francisco 49ers re-signed both restricted free agents to one-year deals.

OTC’s valuation of Dwelley’s 2020 season came in over $4.5 million. San Francisco gave Dwelley a $920,000 base salary, with a $480,000 prorated bonus, plus a $200,000 per game roster bonus. Dwelley’s cap number for the 2021 season is $1.6 million, but only his base salary is guaranteed.

Harris’s base salary in 2021 is $1 million. His contract includes $100,00 in prorated bonus, a $100,00 per game roster bonus, and $50,000 worth of other bonuses Harris could potentially earn. Only $250,000 of Harris’s $1.2 million cap number for the 2021 season is guaranteed.

Both players are slated to be unrestricted free agents after the 2021 season.

After calculating these contracts, Over the Cap has the 49ers with just under $24 million in cap space heading into free agency. That’s plenty of money for the team to sign the players they’d like, and that’s before we get into any potential extensions, restructures, or cuts.
