The Las Vegas Raiders have signed former 49ers third-overall selection Solomon Thomas to a one-year deal worth up to $5 million, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Thomas tore his ACL during Week 2 and has bounced back and forth between defensive end and tackle. He’s battled adversity both on and off the field. Hopefully, with a fresh start and without the pressure of performing up to his draft status, Thomas stays healthy and reaches his potential under one of the best defensive line coaches in the NFL, Rod Marinelli.

Thomas is supposedly ahead of schedule in his ACL recovery, so he should be ready for training camp. The Raiders are a team that isn’t expected to be a contender in the AFC, so Thomas won’t have to worry about having that type of pressure, either.

Here’s to hoping Thomas stays healthy, that the Raiders let him play inside full-time, and he has a successful year in Las Vegas.
