Kyle Juszczyk: We’re in great position to return to where we were in 2019

Juice was all smiles after signing his new deal

The revenge tour may have been derailed by an avalanche of injuries, but that doesn’t mean the 49ers don’t still have vengeance on their minds. In a press conference with the media on Wednesday, fullback Kyle Juszczyk wasn’t shy about where he thinks the team is going.

“I woke up this morning feeling like Christmas...I do feel like we are ready to win. We are healthy. We have added players, we have kept players. I think all arrows are trending up for us. The difference from this year and two years ago is, two years ago we hadn’t really proved it yet. We all believed it, we had shown glimpses of it, but we hadn’t really put it all together. Now, I feel like we’ve done it. We’ve been through it. We’ve won 13 games in the regular season, so we know how that feels. We know it’s possible. The majority of those guys are going to be here to try and do it again. We’ve got some good fresh new faces for the guys that aren’t here to step in. I just feel like we’re in great position to return to where we were at two years ago.”

It’s natural for a player to have nothing but good things to say after getting a nice, new contract, but that also doesn’t mean Juszczyk is wrong. San Francisco has done an excellent job of answering a lot of offseason questions this week, and they still have nine picks in the 2021 NFL Draft.

If the injury bug doesn’t feast on the roster for the third straight season, the 49ers could well find themselves back in the Super Bowl for the second time in three years.
