Now that the San Francisco 49ers are the proud owners of the No. 3 overall pick in this month’s NFL Draft, it’s time to really start digging into the rookie quarterback prospects.
Over the next month, Kyle Posey and I will be dedicating each episode to one of the Top-4 quarterback prospects (outside of Trevor Lawrence).
With Justin Fields’ Pro Day performance on Tuesday, Kyle and I decided to start with the Ohio State phenom and give listeners a full preview of what they could expect if Fields were to join the 49ers.
We touch on why we think Fields is not a one-read quarterback (like some have portrayed), his strengths/weaknesses, and how Kyle Shanahan can incorporate him into the offense.
During the second half of the interview, Kyle interviews Diante Lee from Pro Football Focus, who spent time with Cleveland.com covering Justin Fields and Ohio State during the past two seasons. Diante brings a unique perspective to the game and was a fantastic guest.

For next week’s episode of The Shanaplan Podcast, we’ll have another special guest to discuss Zach Wilson.
