After more than a month of speculation, we will finally find out which quarterback the San Francisco 49ers will select with the third overall pick.
General manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan decided to trade up to No. 3 in this year’s NFL draft with the Miami Dolphins. The Niners surrendered the No. 12 pick this year, a ‘22 third-rounder, plus first-round picks in 2022 and 2023.
It’s been no secret that the Niners made the move to pick a QB, but the team has done an excellent job of keeping word from leaking about which signal-caller they’re leaning toward.
The pick will likely come down to one of Mac Jones, Trey Lance or Justin Fields, but there is some drama surrounding Green Bay Packers superstar Aaron Rodgers.
The 49ers are scheduled to have eight picks from Rounds 2-7 and will try and address their remaining needs on the roster.
Here is a complete list of the Niners’ draft picks:
- Round 1, Pick 3
- Round 2, Pick 43
- Round 3, Pick 102 (Comp pick)
- Round 4, Pick 117
- Round 5, Pick 155
- Round 5, Pick 172 (via New Orleans, Kwon Alexander trade)
- Round 5, Pick 180 (Comp pick)
- Round 6, Pick 193
- Round 7, Pick 229 (via New York Jets, Jordan Willis trade)
Enjoy the draft!
