Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Each week, we send out questions to the most plugged-in San Francisco 49ers fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to join Reacts.

We polled 49ers fans after the team took Trey Lance No. 3 overall to get their reaction. The overwhelming majority of you gave the Lance selection an A:

It’s tough to disagree, knowing how advanced Lance showed he could be in one season as a starter.

If part of your reasoning for grading the Lance pick a B is due to him not being the starter Week 1, I wouldn’t argue that. I would love to hear the reasoning for any grade that’s a C or lower.

Lance has accuracy concerns. There is no arguing that. If we go back to Zach Wilson or Justin Fields freshman year, we would see those same issues. The 49ers used some projection when they took Lance No. 3 overall.

What else would worry you about Lance other than experience? He has some “check down Charlie” in him. When I say that, I don’t mean he’s going to throw short of the sticks. Lance has no issue airing the ball out and taking advantage of safeties who are over-aggressive.

When you hear analysts say Lance needs to do a better job of throwing into tight windows and challenging the defense to the intermediate part of the field, that’s a fair critique. When we interviewed him earlier in the week, one of the questions we asked was what feedback NFL teams gave Lance as to where he could improve as a player. Here’s what he said:

Accuracy. Being more aggressive with the football. Just playing more. Playing more games. Playing 17 games, it’s not a whole lot.

It’s a good sign that he’s been made aware of this. Lance also spoke about what else he’s worked on during the offseason.
