The 49ers were on the clock at No. 43 but traded back with the Las Vegas Raiders. San Francisco received picks No. 48 and No. 121 (a fourth-rounder) in exchange for picks No. 43 and a seventh-rounder.

The Niners likely felt that they could get the player they wanted at No. 43 with this trade. Who do you think it could be? There is a ton of talent available on the board still. Many people on Twitter believe the Niners are taking a cornerback or a safety.

The Raiders ended up selecting TCU safety Trevon Moehrig. That’s a target some 49ers fans wanted the team to select at No. 43 overall. Honestly, I’m a bit relieved. I never got the same sense that Moehrig was the same player some analysts made him out to be. Fine player, but not this game-changing, top-flight safety.

The only cornerback that has been drafted from our best Day 2 players available was Tyson Campbell.
