49ers finalize preseason schedule

The 49ers will play the Raiders in the preseason for the first time since 2011

NFL: Preseason-Los Angeles Chargers at San Francisco 49ers Stan Szeto-USA TODAY Sports

The San Francisco 49ers finalized their preseason schedule Friday afternoon. All times below are Pacific Standard time.

vs. Kansas City Chiefs, August 14, 5 p.m.

At Los Angeles Chargers, Aug. 22, 4:30 p.m.

vs. Las Vegas Raiders, Aug. 29, 1 p.m.

One thing that will be different this year is there are only three preseason games compared to four. Does that mean the Chargers game will serve as the final “tune-up” that normally would have been the third game?

Ending with a game against the Raiders isn’t really news if we assume that all of the starters will sit out that game. This will be the first time the two teams have met in the preseason since 2011, where a violent outbreak happened.

What are you looking forward to watching during the preseason? The obvious answer is Trey Lance. There will be a few positional battles to keep an eye on. Based on some pictures on the 49ers' website, Aaron Banks was getting reps with the first team this week.
