The San Francisco 49ers added eight draft picks and signed four undrafted free agents to their roster during the 2021 NFL Draft.

All eyes will be on what happens at the quarterback position. The Niners selected North Dakota State’s Trey Lance with the No. 3 overall pick, and the plan, for now, is to let him learn from veteran Jimmy Garoppolo.

San Francisco has one of the best rosters in the league. With a nucleus of George Kittle, Nick Bosa, Trent Williams and Fred Warner leading the charge, the Niners should be contenders again next season after an injury-riddled 2021 campaign.

General manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan re-signed several of their own key free agents, including Williams, Kyle Juszczyk, K’Waun Williams and Jason Verrett. Lynch and Shanahan decided to make the trade that netted San Francisco the third overall pick after successfully retaining a bunch of their own veterans. The Niners also added former All-Pro center Alex Mack and pass rusher Samson Ebukam in free agency.

Oddsmakers are liking what the 49ers have done so far this offseason. They have the Niners among the favorites to come out of the NFC in 2021. Here are the teams with the best odds to win the Super Bowl next season, per DraftKings.

Kansas City Chiefs +525
Tampa Bay Buccaneers +650
Los Angeles Rams +1300
49ers +1400
Buffalo Bills +1400
Baltimore Ravens +1500
Cleveland Browns +1600
Green Bay Packers +1700
Denver Broncos +2200
Dallas Cowboys +2500
Seattle Seahawks +2500

Oddsmakers like what the Rams did this offseason. They traded for veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford and already have one of the best defenses in the NFL. It will be interesting to see what happens between Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.

The three-time NFL MVP has made it clear he doesn’t want to be with the team, but general manager Brian Gutekunst is adamant that he will not move Rodgers this offseason. If Rodgers is dealt, expect to see the Packers’ odds plummet. It looks like oddsmakers think Rodgers will land with the Broncos if he is traded, which is why Denver is listed among the favorites. They won’t be that high if Drew Lock or Teddy Bridgewater is under center for Week 1.

The Niners were among the NFC favorites heading into the 2020 season, but we all remember how things turned out. San Francisco also lost defensive coordinator Robert Saleh this offseason after accepting the New York Jets head coaching position. Shanahan elected to stay in-house and replaced Saleh with former linebackers coach DeMeco Ryans.

The NFC West is going to be a bloodbath again in 2021. The 49ers, Rams, Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals are all playoff-caliber teams, so just winning the division will be a huge accomplishment. The league also added another game to the schedule, so the regular season will be even more challenging in 2021.

Which five teams do you think are the favorites to win the NFC next season?
