Preseason open thread, Week 2: There are 10 games on today’s slate

The New England Patriots put a butt-whupping on the Philadelphia Eagles in a 35-0 route on Thursday. Cam Newton and Mac Jones both played well. Philly looks like an exhibition team. And yes, I’m aware Jalen Hurts didn’t play.

Washington’s Football Team beat the Bengals on Friday night 17-13. Ryan Fitzpatrick is a fun quarterback to watch. I love how he gives his wideouts a chance.

Ja’Marr Chase was targeted three times and had three drops. Penei Sewell or Rashawn Slater won’t have a drop all season. Sarcasm aside, I’m not sure how you watch successful teams invest in their offensive line early and still come away thinking you need a receiver first—best of luck, Cincinnati.

There are ten games on Saturday’s slate. We start with the Bills against the Bears. Speaking of fun, Josh Allen and Justin Fields. Former 49ers wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders won’t play as he’s recovering from a foot injury.

At 1:25 p.m., we’ll get to see Zach Wilson and Jordan Love. Wilson was impressive during his preseason debut. Love has a rocket arm and made some “wow” throws himself. The NFL is showcasing its young quarterbacks today.

During the four o’clock hour, the Ravens face the Panthers. The Falcons travel to Miami; the Titans are on the road against the Bucs, and the fighting Jared Goff’s travel to Heinz field.

At five, the Colts play the Vikings, and the Texans face the Cowboys. Then, finally, the Raiders go against Sean McVay, and Drew Lock tries to secure the starting job against Teddy Bridgewater as Denver rounds off the evening against Seattle.
