The San Francisco 49ers are set to kickoff against the Los Angeles Chargers for their second preseason game at 4:30 p.m. PT. Here is more information on how to watch the game.

I doubt Kyle Shanahan has been happy with his offense’s execution during the past couple of days. However, expect to see a fired-up bunch tonight as we’ll see the starters play around a quarter.

Jimmy Garoppolo will have George Kittle and Brandon Aiyuk to throw to. Garoppolo won’t have Trent Williams, as he’s expected to return for the preseason finale after recovering from knee swelling.

Here are the players who won’t play:

LB Azeez Al-Shaair

OL Aaron Banks

DL Nick Bosa

T Shon Coleman

DL Dee Ford

WR Jalen Hurd

DT Javon Kinlaw

TE George Kittle

C Alex Mack

RB Elijah Mitchell

CB Emmanuel Moseley

RB Raheem Mostert

RB Trey Sermon

CB Jaon Verrett

S Jimmie Ward

LB Fred Warner

CB K’Waun Williams

T Trent Williams

S Tavon Wilson

Jauan Jennings was a late scratch due to a heel condition. That’s unfortunate, as Jennings was having a strong camp. What you saw in the game from him was exactly what happened during practice.

Trey Sermon was gimpy after a run during practice but he returned. He’ll also sit out of tonight’s contest due to an ankle injury. He was also banged up during last week’s game. The team has said neither Jennings nor Sermon’s injuries are believed to be serious.

With Mostert and Mitchell Jr., that means JaMycal Hasty and Wayne Gallman will have tonight to prove if they deserve to make the roster.

Veterans getting the night off who aren’t injured include Kittle, Mack, Mostert, Verrett, Ward, Warner, and Wilson.

No Tavon Wilson means Talanoa Hufanga will start in his place and he’ll rotate with Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.

Arik Armstead will play, as will Samson Ebukam. I’m excited to see Ebukam and the energy he plays with.
