With Jalen Hurd on the injured reserve and Dontae Johnson elevated from the practice squad Saturday, the 49ers only needed five inactive with their active roster set at 52 players. Remember, they’re carrying three quarterbacks.

Here’s a look at the Niners inactives:

Josh Norman

Trey Sermon

Emmanuel Moseley

Aaron Banks

Javon Kinlaw

It’s just too soon to expect Norman to be ready to play in an NFL game. He’s only had a few practices under his belt, and there’s no way to know if Norman’s “game ready” or in game shape.

That means we’ll likely see Demmodore Lenoir start, unless the team isn’t confident in him and they start Dontae Johnson.

Sermon is a surprise scratch. JaMycal Hasty and Elijah Mitchell should get extended looks on passing downs. I’m fascinated to see how the team rotates at running back.

Here’s a look at the Lions' inactives. Taylor Decker isn’t listed as the Lions placed him on the injured reserve. Therefore, he’s not a part of Detroit's active roster:

  • RB Jermar Jefferson
  • WR Khadarel Hodge
  • WR Tom Kennedy
  • G Tommy Kraemer
  • DT Levi Onwuzurike
  • EDGE Julian Okwara
