Will the Real Trey Area please stand up

Tim Jenkins is a buddy of mine that has a strong quarterback background. He started four years in college. From there, he went on to sign with the St. Louis Rams in 2013. Tim also spent time with the Calgary Stampeders in the CFL.

He owns a company called Jenkins Elite that has locations in Colorado, Texas, and Arizona, where they train QBs. The most notable is P.J. Walker, the current backup for the Carolina Panthers.

There is a ton of debate right now on NFL Twitter about whether or not the 49ers are headed in the right direction with the 2 QB system or if Trey Lance is flat out ready to take over as the starting Quarterback.

I raised my own concerns about whether or not this will limit Trey’s overall development by having him focus on just a few plays rather than executing the whole offense:

After watching all of the 49ers Pre-Season games I think Week 3 gives us the most insight into this question. We finally saw a small sample size of the “Trey Package” and I have to say, I walked away highly impressed.

I broke down the coach's tape to highlight the good and the bad from our first look at Trey Lance with the plays built for him!
