Golden Nuggets: What are we expecting with our special teams this year?

Your daily San Francisco 49ers news for Thursday, June 16, 2022

49ers explain why they hit the mark on Oren Burks, Ray-Ray McCloud, and George Odum signings

“Ray-Ray’s electric,” Jennings said at the State of the Franchise event. “Ray-Ray’s been having a great camp this year. He’s been reading the defenses right. One of my favorite plays is the choice route, and he’s been doing great at that. I just like looking at that route; he’s been running it good. That’s just from what I’ve seen. As far as everything else, he’s fast and he has a feel. He has a feel to him.”

Aiyuk on Lance: ‘We have a special quarterback’

“During the 49ers’ State of the Franchise event, Greg Papa asked wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Jauan Jennings about working with quarterback Trey Lance this offseason.”

These six 49ers players landed on Pete Prisco’s NFL Top 100

“You must go down to the No. 8 spot to find the first San Francisco 49ers representative on the list. Below is every 49ers player within Prisco’s ranking and what the CBS Sports writer had to say about each.”

Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch on 49ers’ defensive philosophy, stockpiling D-linemen like Drake Jackson

“And I think in the day and age of football, it’s set up right now for offense to have so much success,” Lynch admitted. “I really believe it’s the great equalizer to have a dominant defensive line. It’s the one thing that you can dictate from, and Kyle has the same philosophy. So, we’ve continued to add to it. We had some good pieces when we first got here. We continued to add to it every year, and it’s served us well.”

Kyle Shanahan, DeMeco Ryans rave about new 49ers CB Charvarius Ward: ‘He’s been better than advertised’

“The guy we’ve gotten to know here — we’ve been with him here the last six weeks — he’s been better than advertised,” Shanahan said. “He works his tail off. He’s a good person. I think he has a lot more aspirations than just being a high-paid starting corner in this league.”

Kyle Shanahan: 49ers’ Trey Lance can handle the pressure of starting

“I think the biggest thing on Trey that everyone’s got to realize is he is younger. Trey’s got more horsepower inside of him than I think he even knows of, just from the whole talent, but also what he’s made of, how intelligent he is.

49ers want Super Bowl LX or LXI at Levi’s Stadium

“We are talking to the NFL and all of our partners around the ability to bring Super Bowl 60 and/or 61 back to the Bay Area and Levi’s Stadium,” Guido said.”

49ers news: 4 assistant coaches who may be hired away in 2023

“But, depending on the body of work Lance puts in over the course of 2022, teams may view the 32-year-old [Klay] Kubiak as a potential fit for a promotion of sorts to a full-time quarterbacks coach.”
