The Unwanted QB and more…

When Bill Walsh used to sit down sometimes after a game, he’d hold court in his Walsh like style - and if you listened, there would be the nugget, and another, and so on. A couple might be relevant here. DasCoopa made some great points about what we’ve seen. Walsh said you have to be consistent. The QB is not consistent. We have seen: Too high, missed the receiver, interceptions, Samuel’s yards should have been the QB’s. IN - consistent is what we have got. Bill said you have to be reliable - as a player, as a team, as an organization. Reliable is not a dull word. It means rock steady, what is said is done, what is said gets done. When the game gets tough you get tougher. Walsh was a boxer at one point - a boxer looks for the knockout punch - too many times there has been no KO punch. Like the SB against KC. A swing and a bad miss.

All this chatter about Lance is just that. Hot air. It is clear that if Lance was of a more instant high caliber QB, he’d be playing. He’s not. It’s not like the team has been keeping a top QB under wraps for some special event. No. It’s because he’s not up to par. There’s clearly an air of don’t put him out there if there’s the slightest chance of him showing why he might not be worth however you quantify what you had to pay to get a not-top-line QB. Lance is no Russell Wilson and may never be; I have a not too good of a feeling about him, and I badly want to be wrong. Perhaps another head coach might also be in order…
