49ers RB Christian McCaffrey is active; will McCaffrey see his usual workload?

Plus, discussing who will start at left tackle

As expected, San Francisco 49ers left tackle Trent Williams is officially inactive for tonight’s game.

The Niners will give Williams a week, at least, to heal with a lower ankle-sprain. Jaylon Moore filled in for Williams last week, but Matt Pryor — who was inactive a week ago — is also active. We’ll have a better idea of who gets the nod at left tackle during pre-game warm-ups.

Here’s a look at the inactive list:

Trent Williams

Brandon Allen

Kalia Davis

Jalen Graham

Tyrion Davis-Price

Deebo Samuel

Brayden Willis

TDP inactive must mean the 49ers are going to give Christian McCaffrey meaningful reps, and he’ll be anything but a decoy. Elijah Mitchell should be fresh, and Jordan Mason has earned carries. So even if McCaffrey doesn’t have his usual workload, the 49ers should be OK at running back with their depth.

CB Najee Thompson

TE Nick Muse

LB Andre Carter II

G Ezra Cleveland

T Hakeem Adeniji

Minnesota placed edge rusher Marcus Davenport on the injured reserve last week, which was a big blow to their pass rushing depth.
