The Rams won’t go away. Credit Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford winning with that roster this year. But Los Angeles has to travel to Baltimore with the Ravens off a bye. Stafford’s numbers were poor for all of his career outside in the types of conditions we’ll see today. I think the Rams get humbled today.
The 49ers could use a Baltimore win so the Rams fall further in the NFC West race. The Niners could also use a Chicago Bears win, so Detroit keeps losing ground. You can effectively copy and paste what was said about Stafford and apply it to Jared Goff. The Bears had the Lions dead to rights last game. Don’t be surprised if Chicago wins with their improved defense.
There aren’t really any other games that move the needle. Baker Mayfield against Desmond Ridder? Jake Browning hosting Gardner Minshew? Bryce 5’6” Young battling Derek Carr? How about Joe Flacco against a hobbled Trevor Lawrence? No thanks.
Robert Saleh goes head-to-head with DeMeco Ryans. The Texans aren’t used to being a favorite, so this unfamiliar role may reflect on the scoreboard, especially since C.J. Stroud is without Tank Dell.
