Week 17 Predictions Contest: 49ers look to rebound against Commanders

The 49ers winning streak ended on Monday. Now it’s time to start another.

The San Francisco 49ers were embarrassed on the national stage by Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. Brock Purdy had the worst performance of his NFL career. He and the team will look to bounce back this week against the Washington Commanders.

Due to our sponsorship with Tallysight, we have to pick every game. But, as usual, we’ll narrow it down to six for you at the bottom. Odds for all the games are available on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Marc’s picks record last year:
Regular season: 154-116-2
Postseason: 12-1

This season:
Week 1: 7-9
Week 2: 9-7
Week 3: 10-6
Week 4: 13-3
Week 5: 10-4
Week 6: 9-6
Week 7: 7-6
Week 8: 9-7
Week 9: 8-6
Week 10: 7-7
Week 11: 8-5
Week 12: 9-7
Week 13: 7-6
Week 14: 5-10
Week 15: 8-8
Week 16: 10-6
Overall: 136-103

Here are Marc’s picks for this week’s slate of games:

Lions over Cowboys: The Cowboys fell short of a victory against Miami and are faced with another talented opponent. Dallas hasn’t fared well against above-.500 teams. They may be at home, but Detroit at +195 is the easy pick for me.

Colts over Raiders: I was tempted to ride the Antonio Pierce high, but the Colts have been slightly more consistent in recent weeks.

Bears over Falcons: The Falcons have no quarterback talent but a bunch of surrounding pieces. The Bears are the inverse.

Jaguars over Panthers: I might regret this pick if Trevor Lawrence doesn’t play, but it’s still the Panthers.

Saints over Bucs: Taking the underdog in battle between two okay teams.

Eagles over Cardinals: Eagles have flaws, but they should cruise past Arizona.

49ers over Commanders: Short week, on the road, could be a trap game for the 49ers. However, I’m giving San Francisco the benefit of the doubt coming off the loss to the Ravens.

Rams over Giants: Easy.

Bills over Patriots: Easier.

Texans over Titans: I have some concern about C.J. Stroud showing some rust in his first game back, but I’m hopeful just missing a couple of games isn’t enough to slow his momentum.

Ravens over Dolphins: Baltimore is the best team in the NFL. The Dolphins are a challenge, and they could pull the upset. However, barring a big shift, I don’t foresee myself picking against Lamar Jackson the rest of the way.

Steelers over Seahawks: Banking on Mike Tomlin somehow pulling off an upset in Seattle.

Kansas City over the Bengals: The sky is falling in Kansas City and they should still cruise to 10 wins.

Broncos over Chargers: A backup quarterback battle, the Broncos have a better apparatus around Jarrett Stidham than what Los Angeles has thrown Easton Stick into.

Packers over Vikings: I’m still not sure what either of these teams are, but the Packers at least still have their top quarterback available.

Here are the six games to pick (times in Pacific):

Falcons @ Bears, 10:00 AM

49ers @ Commanders, 10:00 AM

Saints @ Buccaneers, 10:00 AM

Steelers @ Seahawks, 1:05 PM

Chargers @ Broncos, 1:25 PM

Packers @ Vikings, 5:20 PM
