49ers are 3-point favorites against the Rams for the regular season finale

That number was 7.5 the last time these two teams played. Obviously, the Niners are unlikely to play their starters for 60 minutes.

The San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams have both clinched a playoff spot. The Niners have little to play for in Week 18, while the Rams are jockeying for playoff seeding.

Who knows if Sean McVay wants to face the Dallas Cowboys or Detroit Lions, as both teams figure to be the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds in the NFC playoff picture.

Kyle Shanahan didn’t reveal his plan about which starters would play during the regular season finale on Monday. Deebo Samuel may have tipped his hand, more on that later.

Due to the uncertainty, the 49ers are 3-point favorites at home against the Rams in Week 18 on DraftKings Sportsbook, with the total on the game set at 42.5. When the two teams played back in Week 2, the 49ers were favored by 7.5 points. So, there’s been quite the adjustment considering how both teams have trended since then.

In an ideal world, it plays out like a preseason game where the first-team gets a couple of series, scores, and then the backups come in, and San Francisco gets out of a meaningless game healthy and ready to make a playoff run.
