49ers lost, the season's over.

I don't even know what the hell to say. So many things about this game make me so angry. I don't even know. I just want to punch a hole in a wall. I realize the 49ers made their mistakes, and we'll break them down plenty, but there are so many other things that make me angry right now. Richard Sherman is a punk who couldn't buy class with the biggest contract in the NFL. The refs blew this game in every way possible.

I'm honestly fighting back tears here. This team was better than the Seahawks, but at the end of the day, they're going home for the winter, and the Seahawks are going to the Super Bowl. It's not fair, but sometimes life isn't fair.

Everything about this just makes me so angry. The only thing that matters right now for us is keeping NaVorro Bowman in our thoughts and hope his injury is not as bad as it looked. It was a horrific bend of the knee, and lord only knows what happened. We'll find out more.

For now, go out and get drunk.

The San Francisco 49ers have taken a 10-3 lead on the Seattle Seahawks, but they have taken some hits along the way. Return man LaMichael James and left guard Mike Iupati have both been injured, and left the game. James took a shot to the head and is questionable to return. Iupati did not appear in good shape as he was helped off the field after his leg was rolled on from behind.

Fooch's Update: LMJ returned to the game as the kickoff returner, so he should be good to go for now.

Fooch's Update No. 2: Mike Iupati ruled OUT

James suffered his injury on a punt return to start the second quarter. Ricardo Lockette drilled him, amidst a fumble by James. Darryl Morris recovered the fumble, but James went down hard. Lockette got a hand on LMJ's facemask, removing it at the end, but a penalty was not called. James was down for a bit, eventually got off the field, and was ruled questionable to return.

Iupati was rolled up from behind on Anthony Dixon's 4th and goal touchdown run. Dixon dove over the top, but as Iupati blocked his man, he was rolled up on his ankle. The 49ers announced he was questionable to return while he gets an x-ray.

We've got some video below of Aldon Smith's incredibly athletic strip of Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. He made the strip and quickly got up and over to the ball. Smith is one of the most athletic players on the 49ers defense, and he showed it with his forced fumble and the subsequent recovery. It marked the first of both for Aldon Smith this season. His performance will be critical as the 49ers look to slow down the Seahawks offense.

The 49ers face the Seattle Seahawks at CenturyLink Field in the 2014 NFC Championship Game. The winner advances to Super Bowl XLVIII, the loser heads home for the winter. It's as simple as that. We take a look at pertinent details related to the game, as well as provide an open thread for discussion of the first quarter. New to Niners Nation? Sign up here and join the discussion!

And here we go! The San Francisco 49ers travel north to face the Seattle Seahawks in the 2014 NFC Championship Game. The winner advances to Super Bowl XLVIII, the loser goes home with a bitter taste in their mouth. These two division rivals boast what is currently the most intense rivalry in the NFL. The teams have split the last four division titles, but have never faced off in the playoffs. That changes today with so much at stake.

The 49ers come into this game riding an eight game win streak, including two straight playoff road wins. Of course, going into CenturyLink Field is a little bit different than most road experiences. The 49ers have two ugly defeats in their last two games up in Seattle. Fortunately for the 49ers, they are about as healthy as they have been in some time. They have three great receiving weapons in Anquan Boldin, Michael Crabtree and Vernon Davis. They have Quinton Patton as a potential X-factor, but the passing game likely comes down to the three big guns.

On the other side, the Seahawks ride where Marshawn Lynch takes them, with Russell Wilson looking like the X-factor today. Wilson started the season strong, but over the last couple months he has been more of a basic game manager. The Seahawks have been winning, but it has been for reasons other than Russell Wilson. We'll find out quickly what kind of factor Wilson will play in this game.

This will be your first quarter game thread, and we'll be back with a new thread each quarter. We'll wrap things up with a recap thread.

The 49ers and Seahawks released their NFC title game inactives, and as expected Carlos Rogers and Will Tukuafu are active. We break down the news.

The San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks released their NFC title game inactives, and there are no surprises. Cornerback Carlos Rogers and fullback Will Tukuafu are both active, although we don't know exactly what kind of playing time they will be looking at. Both were limited in practice all week.

Rogers makes his return to action for the first time since Week 17. He injured his hamstring during the 49ers final defensive drive against the Cardinals, and proceeded to miss the first two playoff games. He said earlier this week he would be playing in this game, and he anticipated working as the nickel back. That means Tramaine Brock and Tarell Brown get the start. Perrish Cox will serve as the dime back, and Rogers primary backup at nickel. It will be interesting to see if the 49ers decide to rotate Cox with Rogers given how well Cox has performed over the last two weeks.

Tukuafu injured his knee during the opening drive of last week's Divisional round game with the Carolina Panthers. He missed the rest of the game, but returned to practice this week in limited fashion. Much like Rogers, we might see a fair amount of rotation at fullback. Anthony Dixon replaced Tukuafu last week, but Vance McDonald also got some play in the fullback role.

49ers inactives: CB Eric Wright, TE Derek Carrier, LB Nick Moody, G Ryan Seymour, DL Quinton Dial, G Joe Looney, WR Jon Baldwin

Seahawks inactives: WR Percy Harvin, RB Christine Michael, G Caylin Hauptmann, DE Benson Mayowa, DT Jordan Hill, OL Michael Bowie, LB O'Brien Schofield
